Okay, I loved this story and I sincerely hope more people read it. You really brought me vividly into your and Koba's world. I relate because my Husky-Shepherd is also lousy at dog parks, meh at fetch, and has about 70% recall. In the park she loves to chase the submissive dogs and may terrorize anything poodle-like, in which case I get yelled at. (She doesn't actually bite anyone, but still.) If I skip the park, she's unbearable at home, cuz walking on a leash doesn't quite cut it. I sometimes fantasize about giving her to a dogsled racer in Alaska, but I guess I'm stuck with her.
